Step 1 : Class opening and Review
1、Review weather objectives . The students mastered in Level 4 : rainy sunny snowy cloudy windy
Ask the students to look out of the window and describe the weather :
How’s the weather ?

Step 2 Presentation and practice
1、Teaching the words “ temperature ” “ degree ”
1) Demonstrate “ temperature ” with a real thermometer .
Put the thermometer in a cup of cold water and then a cup of hot water as you say phrases such as :
The water is hot/cold .
What’s the temperature of the water ?
It’s degree .
2) Point to “ temperature ” “ degree ” say it please .
3) Read one by one .
4) Practice :
What’s the temperature ?
It’s degree . ( 10 20 30 )
5) Play “Tic-Tac-Toe” to practice the new vocabulary .
2、Learn “ line circle square triangle ”
1) Show some shapes and teaches the word “ shapes ”
a : Read after me some times .
b : Read one by one .
2) Ask and answer
T : What shape do you like ?
S : .
T : ( Draw the shape ) This is . Can you find in the classroom ?
S : ( Point to a object ) This is .
S1 : This is .
3) Use the same way to learn the other shape .
4、Practice
a : Teacher says and the students draw .
b : Practice in pairs .
c : Ask and answer :
T : ( Point to a card ) I like . What’s your favourite shape ?
S : My favourite shape is .
3、Listen to the tape .
1) What’s the temperature ?
2) What’s Danny’s favourite shape ?
Step 3 Consolidation
Play “ Go Fish ” with the students flashcards for shape .
Step 4 Homework
1、Read the text .
